Cyclist Injured in a Pickering Collision

A 68-year-old cyclist has serious injuries following a motor vehicle collision in Pickering on Friday.

On Friday, July 16, 2021, at approximately 10:35 a.m., members of West Division responded to a motor vehicle collision involving a cyclist near Kingston Road and Whites Road.

A 62-year-old male from Pickering was driving a 2010 blue Dodge Caravan and was exiting from the Shell gas station when it struck the 68-year-old-male cyclist. The driver of the Dodge Caravan stopped and remained on scene. The cyclist sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to a Toronto-area trauma center for medical treatment where he remains in serious but stable condition.

Members of the Collision Investigation Unit were called and the roadway in the area was closed for several hours to collect evidence and conduct their investigation. The investigation is ongoing. Police would like to hear from any witnesses to this collision, who have not already spoken to police.
