Ajax – Drugs, Cash and Firearm Seized During Search Warrant in Ajax.

With the conclusion of Project Veronia, investigators have arrested two suspects after a seizure of drugs, a loaded firearm and currency.

On Wednesday, March 10, 2021, members from the East Division Community Response Team, with the assistance of the Drug Enforcement Unit, Tactical Support Unit, West Division Community Response Team and Central West Community Response Team, executed three separate search warrants for residences in Ajax, Whitby and Toronto. During the search warrants, investigators seized a loaded firearm with ammunition, approximately $25,000 in cash, high-end jewelry, as well as cocaine and fentanyl worth an estimated $25,000.

A 27-year-old of Whitby, is facing numerous charges including: Breach of Prohibition Order x 2; Careless Storage of a Firearm; Contravention of Storage Regulations; Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm; Unauthorized Possession Knowing it is Unauthorized; Possession of a Loaded Prohibited/Restricted Firearm; Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5,000; Possession of Proceeds of Crime and Possession of Schedule I for Purpose of Trafficking x2.

A 28-year-old male of Ajax is charged with: Careless Storage of a Firearm; Contravention of Storage Regulations; Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm; Unauthorized Possession of Firearm Knowing it is Unauthorized; Possession of a Loaded Prohibited/Restricted Firearm; Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5,000 x2; Possession of Schedule I for Purpose of Trafficking x2;

They were both held for a bail hearing.
