Suspect Charged with Aggravated Assault in Pickering


A 39-year-old man was arrested after assaulting his neighbours over a noise complaint in Pickering Thursday night.

On Thursday, September 9, 2021, at approximately 10:50 p.m., members from West Division were called to a residential street near Finch Avenue and Huntsmill Drive for a neighbour dispute. The suspect was involved in a verbal dispute with a teen neighbour over a noise complaint. The suspect then got involved in a verbal dispute with the teen’s family. The dispute escalated and the suspect assaulted a male adult and two female adults with a metal pole.

One of the female victims suffered head injuries and was transported to a Toronto-area trauma centre with serious injuries. A second female victim suffered serious injuries and was treated at a local hospital. The male victim suffered non-life threatening injuries.

Police arrested the suspect, a 39-year-old male, of Pickering and he was charged with: Aggravated Assault x2; Assault Causing Bodily Harm; Possession of a Weapon and Assault with a Weapon x2. He was held for a bail hearing.
