City of Oshawa investigates workplace vaccination policy to protect against COVID-19

The City of Oshawa is carefully considering a workplace vaccination policy in an effort to better protect the health and safety of our staff and the community members we serve.

Mayor Dan Carter has directed City staff to work with our municipal partners in Durham Region to explore options in implementing a consistent approach with respect to workplace vaccination policies. This due diligence work includes following the medical advice of the Province and Region as well as ongoing consultations with our unions to ensure we also meet the health, safety and legal rights of our workers.

The health and safety of our staff and community members continues to be the City of Oshawa’s top priority.

“Exploring a workplace vaccination policy for our City staff, who have continued to serve our community throughout this global pandemic, is another way we can make a powerful impact,” said Oshawa Mayor Dan Carter. “A strong vaccine mandate not only protects our team but also our community. I encourage everyone who is eligible, to get fully-vaccinated.”
