Generals face 67’s in Sunday night showdown

The Oshawa Generals will be looking to overtake Ottawa in the East Division standings as they face the 67’s at the Tribute Communities Centre on Sunday night. This will be Oshawa’s third game in four days after losing to Peterborough on Thursday night before rebounding with a win against Niagara on Friday.

Since starting the season 0-2-0-1, the Generals have won three of four and will surely want to keep the momentum moving forward.

After announcing his commitment to the team yesterday, the Generals will have a new player in the lineup tonight, Nikita Parfenyuk. The 6’3” defenceman comes from Belarus, which is precisely where he has spent his hockey career to this point.

Ottawa enters this game on a high after defeating the Barrie Colts yesterday afternoon by a score of 3-0. The game, which was showcased on CBC, exemplified just how quickly Ottawa can make a defence pay for a mistake in transition.

Generals captain Ty Tullio will look to continue his sensational start to the season, as he currently has at least one point in each game and 12 total on the season. Ottawa forward Jack Beck isn’t far behind Tullio as he has 10 points on the season, and has registered a point in all but one game this season.

Patrick Leaver gets the start for tonight’s game; he enters this one with a .910 save percentage in 6 games. Collin MacKenzie gets the start for Ottawa as he supports a .859 save percentage in three games this season.
