Hertz and McGee named Ontario Tech athletes of the week

OSHAWA, Ont. – Leif Hertz (Kingston, Ont.) of the men’s hockey team and Zoe McGee (Kanata, Ont.) of the women’s hockey team have been named the Ontario Tech athletes of the week for the period ending November 29.
Hertz, a commerce student, picked up a 3-0 win for the men’s hockey team on Friday night for his first OUA shutout. The 23-save performance also has Hertz leading the country in save percentage at .976.
McGee, a kinesiology student, capped off Friday for the Ridgebacks with a 1-0 shutout over the Queen’s Gaels. The shutout was her first OUA win and shutout, plus it was a historic victory as it marked the first time in school history that both hockey teams earned shutouts on the same day.
The women’s hockey program has finished the first half of their season, while the men travel to RMC on Thursday before returning home to host the Queen’s Gaels on Saturday night for their final game of 2021.
