Known nationwide as the Civic holiday, on Monday, August 2 the City of Oshawa observes McLaughlin Day, celebrating Colonel R.S. McLaughlin and his love for Oshawa.

Learn how City holiday closures and service changes will affect you next Monday:

City Hall and Recreation Facilities

The following City recreation facilities and outdoor pool are now open for limited use by appointment only: Camp Samac Pool, Civic Recreation Complex (excluding the Civic Dome), Delpark Homes Centre, Donevan Recreation Complex and South Oshawa Community Centre. For more information, visit www.oshawa.ca/reopeningrecreation.

Camp Samac Pool will be open for limited use by appointment only on Monday, August 2. Book your visit at register.oshawa.ca. All other recreation facilities will be closed.

City Hall and Service Oshawa

Service Oshawa will be closed on Monday, August 2.

Service Oshawa is available Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.:

Waste Services

There will be no waste collection service on Monday, August 2.

Waste collection during the week of August 2 will occur one day later than your regularly scheduled collection day due to McLaughlin Day.

To avoid being missed, place waste at the curb no later than 7:00 a.m. the day of collection. Please ensure all waste is tied and secured.
