TORONTO, Ont. – The Ontario Tech women’s hockey team grabbed their first win of the season Friday night, 4-2 over the York Lions.
Megan Johnston (Goderich, Ont.) grabbed the first goal for the Ridgebacks, shorthanded, the first of four straight goals for Ontario Tech.
After Johnston, Lauren Beaulieu (Caistorville, Ont.) secured the second goal, giving the Ridgebacks the lead with 4:13 to go in the middle frame.

To end the second period Mackenzie Krasowski (Keswick, Ont.) slid in one more, with Johnston scoring her second in the third period to finish the night with three points.
Brook Vial (Port Moody, B.C.) made 29 saves in the win, while Serena Vilde made 22 in the Lions loss.
The Ridgebacks will meet York again on Saturday at the Campus Ice Centre. Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m.
