Robinson commits to Ridgebacks forward core for 2022

The Ontario Tech men’s hockey team is excited to welcome another forward into their 2022-23 recruiting class with the addition of William Robinson.
Hailing from Upper Tantallon, N.S., the 6’3 forward has been an integral part of almost every team he has played for since 2014, appearing in over 20 games in every season and helping his team reach the playoffs in five of them.
“William is a strong two way forward who will bring some size and strength to our forward group,” said Ridgebacks head coach Curtis Hodgins. “He has a ton of potential and upside in terms of what he brings to the game and we look forward to the opportunity to work with William and watch his development here at the U SPORTS level.”
Prior to junior hockey, in 2017-18, he had seven goals and 14 assists over 35 regular season games, which he followed with two goals and five points in in 14 playoff games for the Dartmouth Major Midgets.
Following that, he played with Gilmour Academy from 2018-20. His 51-game season in the USHS-Prep league was his best at Gilmour, finishing with 16 goals and 32 assists. His final two years of junior hockey were with the Miramichi Timberwolves of the Maritime Hockey League (MHL). Through two seasons he had 20 goals and 13 assists over 56 games.
“The Miramichi Timberwolves would like to thank William Robinson for his contributions on and off the ice and wish him all the best at Ontario Tech,” said Rob MacDonald, head coach and GM of the Miramichi Timberwolves. “William was a pleasure to coach and his on ice contributions and leadership will be missed. William was a 200 foot power forward that could play all three forward positions and was reliable in all three zones as well as a force in front of the net and down low on our power play. The Miramichi Timberwolves congratulate Will on his commitment to Ontario Tech and wish him all the best in the future.”
He has enroled in the criminology program at Ontario Tech.
