Notice of Electronic Statutory Public Meeting – Zoning By-law Amendment Application – A 06/21


Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic and the Premier’s Emergency Order to limit gatherings, and maintain physical distancing, the Council Chambers remain closed to the Public, and the Planning & Development Committee is holding an Electronic Statutory Public Meeting, as authorized under section 238 of the Municipal Act, 2001, as amended. The electronic public meeting will provide interested parties the ability to learn more about the proposal and provide any comments and feedback before any decisions are made on these applications. This Electronic Statutory Public Meeting will be held on:
Monday, September 13, 2021 at 7:00 pm
Residents can participate electronically by audio, or watch the meeting live streamed via the City of Pickering’s YouTube channel.
Please note that this item is scheduled for 7:00 pm, however, this matter could be delayed due to Committee’s consideration of preceding agenda items.

1470 Bayly Street
On the north side of future Celebration Drive, approximately 65 metres west of Sandy Beach Road and approximately 135 metres north of Bayly Street.

The applicant is proposing a high-density, mixed-use development consisting of 2 residential towers at 46 and 54-storeys connected by a 4-storey podium. The proposed development includes 1,064 residential units and 860 square metres of commercial/retail space at grade. The purpose of the zoning by-law amendment is to increase the maximum building height from 122 metres (approx. 38 storeys) to 145 metres (46 storeys) and 169 metres (54 storeys). The applicant is also requesting site-specific amendments to reduce the minimum parking ratio; remove the minimum main wall stepback provision; revise the balcony and above grade parking requirements; and remove the Natural Heritage System Zone setback for a drive aisle.
