Rainfall Warning in Effect for Durham

Rainfall warning in effect for:

  • Pickering – Oshawa – Southern Durham Region
  • Uxbridge – Beaverton – Northern Durham Region

Heavy rain and thunderstorms will continue into this evening.

Thunderstorms this afternoon are expected to become more scattered before another area of thunderstorms moves in early this evening.

Rainfall amounts will be highly variable given the localized nature of the heavy rain and thunderstorms. Total rainfall amounts of 50 to 75 mm are possible by late this evening with many areas expected to receive significantly lesser amounts.

For information concerning flooding, please consult your local Conservation Authority or Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry District office. Visit Ontario.ca/floods for the latest details.

Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible. Heavy rainfall in combination with other weather factors, such as hail, wind and lightning will make outdoor activities unsafe.
